VoXcell Imaging System Gets FDA OK

The FDA recently gave KJAYA Medical approval to market the firm's image reconstruction solution, utilizing proprietary algorithms and off-the-shelf graphics cards to process the data.

From KJAYA:

VoXcell enables physicians to stream 2D axial slices & 3D reconstructions to any basic desktop or mobile PC that can access a cable, DSL, or cellular broadband Internet connection. This revolution in image distribution & viewing enables on demand diagnostics.

On demand access to advanced visualization has become a necessity for physicians. However, such access is limited by increasing image data volumes, network congestion, Internet bandwidth, limited client hardware resources, and viewing software that occupies too large of a footprint. As a result some physicians are confined to viewing reformatted images in dedicated reading rooms using expensive & obsolete workstations, while many have no ability to view them at all.

VoXcell overcomes these restrictions to deliver diagnostic quality images interactively to any physician in real time, regardless of the PC or Internet connection used. With VoXcell, viewing advanced visualization at the office, at home, on the road, or virtually anywhere else via a cellular broadband connection is a reality!

KJAYA Medical's Xcell hardware platform harnesses the immense processing power of off the shelf graphics processing units. When VoXcell and Xcell are combined the result is instant interactive image review delivered via a technological foundation that enables the ultimate level of scalability & flexibility. Every desktop, laptop, or ultra-mobile PC can now serve as a professional quality viewing station. VoXcell takes full advantage of our Xcell hardware. Xcell servers are built with completely off the shelf components; including the latest graphics processing units. Proprietary hardware is expensive and retooling it to reflect current trends is a lengthy process.
